Farmers in banditry-infested communities in the Mariga and Rafi local government councils in Niger State have said that bandits now disguise as farmers with hoes and cutlasses, while hiding guns in their cloths to invade their farms. The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Mansur Matazu, has warned Nigerians to expect more rains in the next few weeks. The NiMeT CEO stated this on a television station while speaking on flooding wreaking havoc across Nigeria in recent weeks. He said the organisation had issued several advisories about flooding earlier to which many people did not adhere to.
