The Nigeria Media Innovation Programme (NAMIP), has launched applications for its Media Business Bootcamp, a five-day intensive programme, designed to support and equip media entrepreneurs with skills and strategies needed to build sustainable media businesses. NAMIP is dedicated to supporting digital media organisations in developing sustainable business models, reaching underserved audiences, and strengthening independent journalism in Nigeria.

The Programme Director of NAMIP, ‘Deji Adekunle, disclosed that the bootcamp would bring together founders and key decision-makers from emerging and existing media organisations to refine their business models, explore innovative revenue strategies, and enhance their audience engagement approaches. The bootcamp would also make it possible for participants to gain a global perspective on the future of media products and ecosystems, have hands-on training in business development, revenue generation, and audience engagement, expert-led sessions on organisational management, legal structures, branding, fundraising, and serve as a unique opportunity to pitch their media product ideas and to receive valuable feedback, and access community of like-minded media entrepreneurs and potential investors.

Media Business Bootcamp for media entrepreneurs

Those to apply are early-stage and growth-stage media entrepreneurs, founders, and executives of digital media startups, media professionals exploring innovative business models, and anyone looking to transition a media idea into a viable business for the bootcamp, which is part of NAMIP’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in Nigeria’s media landscape. Application has opened via the programme website and partner platforms, and closes on March 31, 2025, when all submissions are expected to have been completed. Initial screening and shortlisting has been fixed for April 1 to 15, 2025 with evaluation based on clarity, feasibility, and alignment with bootcamp goals.

Interviews and clarification sessions would hold from April 15 to 30, 2025, selected candidates may be contacted for brief discussions, final selection and notification is on May 11, 2025 when successful applicants would be informed, pre-bootcamp orientation and materials distribution take place from May 12 to 18, 2025 while preparatory materials and agenda would be shared ahead of the bootcamp dates of May 19 to 23, 2025, when the intensive programme would be held.
