The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete has officially launched its Operation Feed Yourself (OFY) Programme for the 2024 cropping season, aimed at fostering self-sufficiency in food production among its community members. Interested individuals within the university community are encouraged to participate by either filling out the application form available via an online link or by physically obtaining and submitting the form at designated units within the university.
The programme, under the leadership of the Chairperson of OFY, Dr. Ololade Abdulrahman, offers a subsidised land parcel of 0.2 hectares at a cost of ₦18,000. This amount covers land preparation and insurance expenses. Applicants are required to submit the filled form along with evidence of payment on or before May 6, 2024. Payments should be made to the KWASU Operation Feed Yourself (KOFY) account at the KWASU Microfinance Bank. The OFY Programme serves as a proactive measure by KWASU to promote agricultural engagement and enhance food security within its community, aligning with broader national efforts towards self-reliance in food production.
