The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Mansur Matazu, has warned Nigerians to expect more rains in the next few weeks. The NiMeT CEO stated this on a television station while speaking on flooding wreaking havoc across Nigeria in recent weeks. The Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Felix Odimegwu, has decried deforestation through felling of trees without replanting, bush burning and other environmental practices that are now serious offences in the state.
