In a bid to promote sustainable agriculture and community collaboration, the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan, is preparing for its 17th Annual Farmers’ Forum.

This landmark event is exclusively tailored for participants under the aegis of Sustainable Farmers’ Association of Nigeria (SUFAN).

JDPC Ibadan is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation with the mission to promote holistic human development through conscietisation of people, who are central to sustainable and meaningful development.

In a statement signed by the JDPC’s Head of Integrated Development Programme,  Anthony Adedeji, the event is scheduled for December 3, 2025, at the Igboora High School, Igboora, Oyo State, beginning at 10 am.

The initiative is operating as a dedicated department within JDPC Ibadan and had diligently executed activities that contribute significantly to the nation’s pursuit of food security and improved livelihoods in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 3.

This extensive programme spans rural, peri-urban, and urban areas across eight local government areas of Oyo and Osun states.

SUFAN was established in accordance with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Act and unifies farmers in a collective mission, as the association annually organises the forum as a dynamic platform for knowledge dissemination, idea exchange, and vibrant showcase of agricultural innovations.

The statement added that the forum also facilitates the exchange of seeds, fortifying agricultural foundation for a sustainable and prosperous future.

Participating farmers stand to gain immeasurable benefits, including access to cutting-edge agricultural practices, exposure to innovative technologies, and networking opportunities with key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.

Additionally, the event would serve as a marketplace for farmers to explore potential collaborations, access market insights, and ultimately enhance their productivity and economic well-being.
