The Climate x Health Initiative is opening doors for organisations to seize a unique opportunity. The initiative, backed by prominent entities including The Rockefeller Foundation, Global Climate and Health Alliance, AMREF, and Wellcome Trust, is offering small grants ranging from USD $5,000 to USD $10,000. The Climate x Health Initiative is extending this funding opportunity to organisations passionate about strengthening joint advocacy, action, and accountability for climate and health in early 2024. These grants aim to empower initiatives falling under two key categories, which are:

Advocacy for action

This category encourages proposals that persuasively advocate for ambitious climate and health action. From leveraging evidence generation to championing voices, applicants are urged to target decision-makers to drive impactful change.

Community building and capacity development

The second category focuses on investing in the climate and health community itself. Proposals should aim to foster partnerships, engage new groups, and lay the groundwork for meaningful dialogue, ensuring that organisations are equipped to drive change collaboratively.

Eligibility criteria

Funding opportunity is open to civil society, non-governmental, and not-for-profit organisations with the flexibility for any organisation type to apply. The initiative welcomes proposals from diverse regions and geographies, prioritising funds for low- and middle-income countries or underfunded groups in high-income countries.

Proposals must demonstrate clear relevance to climate and health, emphasising advocacy, communications, or capacity-building. To be considered, proposals must outline specific and realistic deliverables achievable by May 31, 2024. Applicants must be registered for the Climate x Health forum by the application deadline on November 27, 2023. Additionally, organisations are expected to have an established bank account to receive funds. To apply for these transformative grants, as organisations can access the application at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CxHsmallgrantsapp.
