The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced a grant up to the tune of $31million. The offer is to help farmers reach bigger and better markets through product quality. The money is available through the Value-Added Producer Grants programme, the competitive grants programme administered by the Rural Business Cooperative Service at the USDA. Eligible candidates include independent producers, farmers and rancher co-operatives, and producer groups. According to the announcement; planning grant per awardee is $75,000 while the working capital grant is $250,000. Electronic application deadline is May 11 while paper application deadline is May 16.
